Suspected intruder near CIA headquarters shot by FBI agents

A suspected intruder who was stopped by armed guards near the main entrance to Central Intelligence Agency s Virginia headquarters on Monday was shot by FBI agents.  The shooting occurred around 6 p.m. when the unidentified suspect got out of his vehicle with a weapon before he was shot, the FBI told Fox News in a statement.  The subject was wounded and has been transported to a hospital for medical attention, the FBI said.  The agency did not specify what type of weapon the suspect had or his motive.

Security situation reported outside CIA headquarters in Virginia

A pair of law enforcement officers said a man, who has yet to be identified, attempted to drive through a checkpoint without the proper access credentials, according to NBC News. No shots were fired, and negotiations were reportedly occurring with the person in his or her vehicle, sources told the outlet. The CIA confirmed an incident and said that the compound remains secure. In coordination with our local law enforcement partners, we are addressing a security situation just outside the secure perimeter of CIA headquarters by our main gate on Route 123, a CIA spokesperson told WJLA. Our compound remains secured, and our security protective officers working the incident are the only agency personnel directly involved.”
