No one seriously injured Wednesday after MCU conducts search warrant

LANCASTER - After a pursuit from Lancaster to just past the Licking County line, the Fairfield-Hocking-Athens Major Crimes Unit arrested two people with the help of local law enforcement agencies Wednesday afternoon. In total, the MCU took five people into custody, none of which have been officially charged as of Wednesday evening. MCU Commander Dennis Lowe said the event started after an investigation into drug trafficking at a residence located on the 1200 block of North Columbus Street in Lancaster. On Wednesday morning, the Lancaster Police Department Strategic Response team was at that residence to serve a search warrant, Lowe said.

According to officials, DNA testing revealed that the body belonged to Kirk Anthony Hall, who had been reported missing from the same community on September 13, 2019. Although the cause of death is unknown at this time, authorities say they believe that Hall died of natural causes.

A hunter discovered human remains in the woods near Peay Ridge in October, the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office said. A state forensics team was called in and used DNA to identify the remains as Kirk Hall, WIS-TV reported. Hall was reported missing in September 2019. He had last been seen walking toward Peay Ridge Road. ADVERTISEMENT Officials are still working to determine how Hall died, but they believe he died of natural causes, the sheriff’s office said.
