A man will face court today charged after a stabbing in Sydney’s south yesterday.
About 5pm (Friday 1 January 2021), emergency services were called to Myddleton Avenue, Fairfield, where they found a man with multiple stab wounds.
The man, aged 63, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital where he remains in serious condition.
Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and commenced inquiries.
A 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with attempt murder.
He has been refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 2 January 2021).

Critical incident investigation underway after fatal crash – Leppington
A critical incident investigation has been launched after a man died following a police pursuit and crash in Sydney’s south-west overnight.
Officers attached to Campbelltown Highway Patrol attempted to stop the driver of a Lancer shortly after 11.20pm (Thursday 24 December 2020).
A pursuit was initiated when the driver failed to stop when directed; however, a short time later the vehicle struck a power pole on Eastwood Road, Leppington.
A male passenger was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.
The driver is now under police guard in hospital where he is undergoing treatment for injuries to his arm.

Second man charged over stabbing – Canley Heights
A second man has been charged following investigations into an alleged stabbing during an affray in Sydney’s south west which saw two men hospitalised.
Just after midnight on Saturday 22 August 2020, emergency services were called to Canley Vale Road near Derby Street, Canley Heights, after reports of an assault.
Police have been told two groups of men were involved in an affray, during which two men were allegedly stabbed. The group fled the scene prior to police arrival.
A 19-year-old man was treated by paramedics for multiple stab wounds, and a second man, aged 18, suffered bruising and a laceration.

Police seek information after sexual touching – Yennora
Police are appealing for information after a man sexually touched three women on trains on the main South Line between Yennora and Fairfield yesterday.
In the first incident, about 10.50am (Saturday 19 December 2020), two women aged 20 and 21 were seated in a carriage as the train neared Yennora Railway Station, when they were approached by a man who sexually touched them.
Both women managed to get away from the man and reported the matter to police.
In a second incident, about 4.00pm the same day, a 19-year-old woman was seated in a carriage on a train near Yennora Railway Station when she was approached by a man who sexually touched her.
