A WIDNES has been chosen as a finalist for the north west as part of the annual Kellogg’s Breakfast Club Awards. Fairfield Primary School will receive a £1,000 cash prize, plus a special party pack to help them celebrate if they win. The Kellogg’s Breakfast Club Awards champion the people and activities that make breakfast clubs so great – from inspirational volunteers to extra learning sessions. Around 15 children attend the breakfast club at Fairfield Primary every morning before school. The club used food supplied by Magic Breakfast to deliver food boxes to around 15 families throughout the first lockdown and summer holiday and have continued to do so.

Schools in south Wales have been given fruit trees to create their own orchards as a learning resource.
The Fruitful Orchards Project by Natural Resources Wales aims to educate through nature when schools reopen from the current pandemic hiatus.
Among the first to take part was Fairfield Primary School in Penarth, which planted apple trees in its grounds in December.
It is a great opportunity , said teacher Elaine Herbert.
Ms Herbert, who is also responsible for the Eco Committee at Fairfield, said: The new curriculum for Wales, its emphasis is on blended learning and getting outside and using the natural resources as much as possible.

FAIRIFIELD A Portland architectural firm has recommended Maine School Administrative District 49 stop using three of its elementary schools for educational purposes after an assessment raised concerns about the buildings.
During a public forum Tuesday night about the Fairfield Primary School construction project, representatives of CHA Architecture shared findings of a 10-month feasibility study of Albion Elementary School, Benton Elementary School, Clinton Elementary School and Fairfield Primary School.

FAIRFIELD The School Administrative District 49 board of directors and district administration have submitted applications to replace three local elementary schools, with the possibility of moving students from Albion, Clinton and Fairfield into one new school in the face of declining enrollment.
Superintendent of Schools Dean Baker said SAD 49 probably was the first school district to send in applications for the latest cycle of the program to the Maine Department of Education, which provides funding for major renovations and replacements with its Major Capital School Construction program.
