FAIRFIELD, CT Hundreds of Fairfield Warde High School students walked out of class Monday morning to protest recent racist incidents in Fairfield. They gathered outside the school building, shared their stories and spoke against racism, antisemitism, homophobia, sexism and ableism.
A similar event was planned for Fairfield Ludlowe High School.

A racist high school student in Connecticut got arrested, and reportedly expelled from school, after calling a schoolmate the n-word.
On May 7, a picture of Jamar Medor was taken at Fairfield Warde High School in Fairfield, Conn., by an unidentified white student who made a racist remark on Snapchat.
The student stated: “Why is there a [n-word] in my homeroom [and] why is he not in chains,” according to a report by WABC-TV.
“I have no words,” Medor, a sophomore at the school, said. “Like I’m speechless. I’m kind of mad and upset and kind of sad, too.”

Jamar Medor, 16, was in a state of shock after a picture of him was used without permission in conjunction with racist messages calling him the N-word and questioning why he was even in school.

The slurs first appeared on Friday. Medor was shown the image as it was shared among students at Fairfield Warde High in Connecticut.

A Connecticut high schooler was arrested after allegedly calling a classmate a racial slur on Snapchat.
The student reportedly shared a photo of Fairfield Warde High School sophomore Jamar Medor on May 7, writing “why is there a n r in my homeroom” and “why is he not in chains,” according to ABC 7.
“I have no words,”Jamar said. “Like I’m speechless. I’m kind of mad and upset and kind of sad, too.”
The following weekend, Judith Medor said her younger son recieved a racist video call from students at another school, Fairfield Ludlowe High School, after the photo of Jamar started making rounds.
