Fairfield Warde High School student arrested over racist Snapchat post

Updated: 2:34 PM EDT May 11, 2021 FAIRFIELD, Conn. Police have arrested a Fairfield high school student in connection with an alleged racist Snapchat post. Last Friday, police were called to investigate an incident involving a student at a Fairfield Warde High School after an image was posted on the social media platform Snapchat, which included a racial slur. The derogatory text on the image was directed toward a Black classmate who was also in the photograph. The Fairfield Warde head principal put out a statement stating the incident involved Warde Students. Police and school officials investigated the incident and a 16-year-old male was arrested and charged with Ridicule on Account of Creed, Religion, Color, Denomination, Nationality or Race and Breach of Peace in the 2nd Degree.

Congratulations, Dr. Cutaia for this well-deserved honor! During the online celebration, our friend Paul Cavanna was also honored as Outstanding High School Principal for Connecticut. Mr. Cavanna, as you will remember, was a former administrator at Jonathan Law High School and West Shore Middle School. He currently serves as principal for Fairfield-Warde High School in Fairfield. Congratulations!

(Shutterstock/Anton Garin) FAIRFIELD, CT Fairfield Ludlowe High School and Fairfield Warde High School have been named two of the best high schools in the United States, according to a new ranking by U.S. News and World Report. This year s list ranks more than 17,800 public high schools throughout the country. Among those schools, Ludlowe was ranked No. 690 nationally, and came in 15th in the state. Warde came in at No. 1,681 in the nation, and 30th statewide.

Now their number has come up. The Board of Selectmen has approved $152,400 to cover a facilities condition assessment from Diversified Technology Consultants Inc. The study’s approval came in the same meeting as the selectmen’s vote to appropriate $36,000 for air conditioning in Fairfield Warde High School’s cafeteria.
