Ucross Welcomes Chad Deaton as Trustee – Sheridan Media

Ucross, the renowned artist residency program, today announced that energy executive Chad Deaton has joined its Board of Trustees. Deaton is chairman of the Board of Directors at Transocean and a director of the University of Wyoming Foundation. He has also served as co-chair of the Wyoming Governor’s Task Force for the University of Wyoming’s new Engineering and Applied Sciences Center. Deaton joins current board members Jim Nelson, Ucross board chair and former energy executive; attorney Charlie Hart, Ucross board secretary; Deborah Koehler, executive director of the Raymond N. Huerta received $1,500 from the Oregon Arts Commission to support a professional development and training opportunity with master Charros and Talabarteros (leatherworkers) in Ciudad Guzman, Jalisco, Mexico, in spring/summer 2021. Four local artists are part of the first of two rounds of the Oregon Arts Commission and The Ford Family Foundation’s Career Opportunity Program grant awards. The organizations awarded $82,305 to 24 Oregon artists for career development projects.This total includes $33,515 from the Oregon Arts Commission and $48,790 in supplemental funding through a partnership with The Ford Family Foundation’s Visual Arts Program. Individual grants ranged from $500 to $8,500.

Linda Cline takes the helm at C4C By Sue Stafford Linda Cline at Smith Rock. photo provided Citizens4Community (C4C) recently hired their first paid staff member, Executive Director Linda Cline. The hiring came with the help of a grant from the Ford Family Foundation. Cline was selected from among 21 applicants for the position and began work on January 4. Cline, who brings her experience with multiple community-building organizations to Sisters, is a native Oregonian, having grown up as the youngest of 10 children in the rural Southern Oregon town of Glendale. “My dad wanted six children and my mom wanted four, so they each got what they wanted (six boys and four girls),” Cline quipped.
