According to Deadline, CIC Media is partnering with the Frida Kahlo Corporation and Venezuelan musician Carlos Baute to produce the project. The planned show will be written by Joel Novoa (TV’s Arrow) and Marilu Godinez, who say they are creating a “high concept series” about the painter and pop cultural icon. “The idea is to talk about what the books don’t,” said Novoa and Godinez in a joint statement. “The subtext behind each painting, the richness of Mexico’s 20th century and the revolution–themes that are incredibly relevant at this unprecedented time.”
