Allegheny Valley Association of Churches accepting donations for food bank
Donations are welcome for the Allegheny Valley Association of Churches food bank in Harrison.
Items most needed include diapers, bread, spaghetti and sauce, bottled juice, and canned chicken and tuna and can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at the office, 1913 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights.
Freeport
Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays: The Thrift Store Clothing Ministry at Freeport United Methodist Church, 211 Fourth St., will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays, noon to 3 p.m. Wednesdays and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays. Cash only. Donations must be laundered and free from pet hair.

Harrison
Wednesday: Harrison Commissioners will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. at the municipal building, Park Avenue and Springhill Road, to consider a kayak parking lot project at 5 Sycamore St. Social distancing and facemasks required. Attendance may be limited due to physical distancing requirements.

Food truck rally planned Saturday in Lower Burrell
Lower Burrell Volunteer Fire Company No. 3, 3255 Leechburg Road, will host a Food Truck Rally from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the firehall.
Cash and credit and debit cards will be accepted. Outdoor covered seating and free parking will be available. Twenty percent of proceeds will be donated to the fire company.
