ANTHONY Crews from three different departments spent Monday morning battling a sulphuric fire at Simplot Grower Solutions. It started around 8:15 a.m. inside a sulfur storage facility at 2555 South Yellowstone Highway, according to South Fremont Fire Department Assistant Chief David Fausett. South Fremont, North Fremont and Madison Fire Departments responded to the fire and used foam to help control flames. Nearly 30 firefighters were on the scene and the blaze out by 10:30 a.m. Nobody was injured and investigators are working to determine what caused the fire.

News Briefs: Fremont to conduct hydrant flushing Staff reports Fremont to conduct hydrant flushing FREMONT - The City of Fremont Water and Sewer Maintenance Department in conjunction with the Fremont Fire Department will continue its annual fire hydrant flow testing/flushing program in the eastern half of Fremont. The process will take two-four weeks to complete each half of the city. Fire hydrant flow testing/flushing programs are required to assure that an adequate supply of safe, quality water is available for consumer use and an adequate quantity of water is available for fire protection. The testing identifies specific areas of the city’s water distribution system requiring repairs and upgrades concerning water quantity and quality. Customers may experience temporary low pressure and/or discoloration of water. Customers experiencing persistent problems may contact the Water and Sewer Maintenance Department at 419-332-3181.
