Freudenberg shoe components certified to GRS Company’s materials are widely used by leading global sports brands. 20th May 2021 Freudenberg Performance Materials has completed the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification process for its nonwoven shoe components manufactured in Asia. All Freudenberg Far Eastern Spunweb sites were certified by Control Union Certifications and the company is therefore a confirmed supplier of sustainable shoe components. These include strobel insoles made of 100% recycled polyester which are lightweight, binder-free and generate low waste during cutting. The GRS certification recognises the share of recycled materials in Freudenberg Far Eastern Spunweb’s eyelet reinforcements and lightweight strobels. This enables the supplier to support customers in calculating the total amount of recycled material in shoes.
