You can learn a lot from what they eat to how they bloom into beautiful butterflies.
You’ll also want to check out the caterpillar room where you can watch as caterpillars feed on milkweed, eventually to turn into Monarch Butterflies.
After you check out all the butterflies and moths, take your kids over to the Lena Meijer Children’s Garden.
There, they can partake in activities that will teach them about butterflies and they can have some fun as they make their way through the monarch maze.

Mentoring Monday lets women from across Michigan connect, support one another

Women from across Michigan met virtually this week to meet, share ideas and support one other in both career and personal goals.
The virtual Mentoring Monday events, hosted by Advance Local and MLive Media Group, were held Monday, Feb. 22.
Last year’s event, which was held in-person, drew more than 200 attendees and 32 mentors to Frederick Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids. There, women met others interested in business, entrepreneurship and advancing in their career goals. The event is part of the nationwide mentoring program for women.

The Mentoring Monday event in Michigan is full of women supporting women, past attendees said.
Kristin Corner and Kiran Sood Patel, who attended the first event in February 2020, said the the networking event was a great opportunity to meet other women, learn from each other and lift one another up toward success.
The event, hosted by Advance Local and MLive Media Group, will return in 2021 virtually, event organizers said. Women from across Michigan will come together at two virtual networking events, one on the east side of the state and the other in West Michigan, said event organizer Anne Drummond.

The networking will continue this year at Mentoring Monday despite the physical distance between women participating from across Michigan.
The second annual Mentoring Monday, hosted by Advance Local and MLive Media Group, will take place virtually this year in February. One mentor hopes to create an environment via the computer where women feel safe to share, offer advice and support each other in their goals, especially amid the pandemic.
