Thirty years ago 1991
Robert Smith, 18-year-old son of Harold and Lois Smith of Ellicott Road, Brocton has been chosen Student of the Week. He is extremely active in Brocton Central School activities, including National Honor Society, Student Council president, “Brocton Review,” freshman class treasurer, sophomore class secretary, varsity baseball and basketball, and Boys State. In addition, Robert has had five A ratings in piano at NYSSMA. His future plans include attending Cornell University.

Twentieth century American architecture with a special focus on Fredonia and Chautauqua County buildings, will be the subject of a new course to be offered by Dr. Daniel D. Reiff this spring at Fredonia State University College. The course, entitled 20th Century Fredonia Architecture, is a sequel to one on 19th Century Fredonia Architecture he taught last term.

Warren, Pa.–Tammy Rae Newhouse Buck, 62, of Warren, PA and form-erly of Ashville, N.Y., passed away on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021 at the Warren Manor Nursing Home in Warren, Pa. following a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
She was born Dec. 8, 1958 in Corry, Pa., the daughter of the late Bernard Newhouse and Phyllis TeWinkle Hanson.
Tammy was a graduate of Chautauqua Central School, class of 1975, and then attended Fredonia State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She then moved to Arizona where she worked in Child Protec-tive Services until moving back to Jamestown, N.Y. in the early 2000s. Tammy was also a member of the Open Meadows United Methodist Church in Ash-ville, N.Y.
