He plops the finished cotton candy onto an oat milk chai latte and hands it over. With a little chai flavoring, the ivory tuft smells faintly of spices. Active Coffee Co. owner Stacy Magana instructs me to pull the straw out of the fluff and gently push the center into the chai while leaving some sugar fibers on the cup s rim for my drinking pleasure.

Fresno Pacific University junior Veronica Mendez smiles just thinking about a return to campus. I m also very excited because we get to be back on campus, we get to see our professors, we get to see our peers, said Mendez.
The history student says online learning hasn t been easy. You re doing everything at home, continued Mendez. You re doing family life at home. If you re doing an on-campus job, you re doing that at home.
The thought of spending senior year back in a classroom has her sights set on the future.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) Coffee and specialty drinks are brewing inside The Java Bar in East Central Fresno. It was scary opening up a business in the middle of a pandemic. It was scary; I was really nervous, but I said you know what, I ve been doing this for two, three years, I ve got it, said Keshawna Nelson, The Java Bar owner.
Nelson launched the Java Bar inside the Vision View Business Center near the airport last year. She got some help from Fresno Pacific University s Launch Central Valley to help her succeed.
Moorpark College is pleased to announce the selection of Matthew (Matt) Crater as its new athletic director. Crater comes to Moorpark College from College of the Canyons after serving as an athletic support coordinator, assistant head football coach and kinesiology instructor. Crater replaces longtime athletic director Vance Manakas, who recently retired after nearly 40 years.
“Matt brings a great depth of experience to this position, and he clearly has a passion for helping student athletes thrive academically,” said Julius Sokenu, Interim President of Moorpark College. “We are looking forward to him continuing the excellent tradition of student success that has been a cornerstone of our athletic programs.”
