Jan. 27 A menacing and massive winter storm, fueled by an atmospheric river from the north Pacific Ocean, has reached the Sacramento region on Tuesday night.
The extreme storm is bringing heavy winds, near-freezing rain and dangerous driving conditions to the Valley floor; even at low elevations, snow is falling in several areas in Northern California.

Southwest Airlines unveils date to begin Fresno service. Here s where they will be flying

Jan. 21 Southwest Airlines will enter the Fresno air travel market in April with daily nonstop round trips to Las Vegas and Denver.
The airline, which has long been coveted by Fresno city officials and Valley travelers, officially unveiled its plans Thursday, about a month after initially announcing its intention to begin flights to and from Fresno Yosemite International Airport.
The two routes will start on April 25. Southwest will fly one daily round trip between Fresno and Denver, and three daily round trips between Fresno and Las Vegas.

Southwest announces daily service to Las Vegas, Denver from Fresno
On Wednesday, Southwest Airlines announced its initial launch for Fresno Yosemite International Airport.
The airline will soon offer nonstop service from the Central Valley to Denver International Airport and Las Vegas McCarran International Airport. These airports offer travelers substantial connectivity to more than 50 airports, according to FAT officials.
“Bringing Southwest to Fresno has been our priority for a number of years, Director of Aviation Kevin Meikle said. We have maintained ongoing dialogue and marketing efforts keeping Southwest up to date on the airport and our region’s growth, and all it has to offer to ensure their long-term success.
