(ABC News) A driver was killed when his car hit a tree in Adelaide s north this morning, with police also kept busy overnight by two stabbings and an armed hold-up. The man was the only person in the Holden sedan when it hit a tree on Main North Road at Salisbury Heights just before 8:30am. The driver and sole occupant, a 52-year-old from Kilburn, sadly died at the scene, police said.

Police are asking anyone who saw the silver Ford sedan or white Toyota Hilux travelling on Flaxmill Road prior to the crash to come forward. Flaxmill Road was closed to all traffic for about eight hours while the scene was investigated. It has since reopened. (ABC News: Michael Clements) Two teenagers have been taken to hospital and three others have minor injuries after a car crashed and flipped in South Australia s Riverland early this morning. Emergency services were called to Garrett Road in Glossop after the black Suzuki Vitara crashed into a Stobie pole and landed on its roof about 1:30am. Two passengers in the back of the car a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were seriously injured and flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
