Some hospitals in Jacksonville making changes to visitation policies Changes come as hospitals see increase in COVID-19 patients Updated:  UF Health Seeing COVID Surge UF Health Jacksonville said that “due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in Jacksonville and Florida, visitation is limited at this time.” The hospital said it is allowing one visitor per patient at a time. UF Health Jacksonville officials said the hospital has the most COVID-19 patients it has ever had, and that’s even before the COVID-19 vaccine came out. UF Health Jacksonville told News4Jax on Tuesday afternoon that there were roughly 127 COVID-19 patients at the hospital. That’s up from 117 people who were hospitalized with COVID-19 there as of Monday.

What happened on May 8, 2020 According to a probable cause affidavit from Marion County Sheriff s Detective Daniel Pinder, deputies went to the 14400 block of Northwest 21st Court in Citra on May 8, 2020, to investigate the shooting of an 11-year-old boy. That day, the boy and a man, who had been together in a vehicle, were taken to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville. Deputies said the child had been shot in the jaw and had sustained other injuries. The man had injuries to his arm that deputies said came from glass or shrapnel. During interviews, detectives were told it appeared the shooting was a misunderstanding.

While driving, the victim said, Bishop grabbed her hair and slapped her in the face, according to the sheriff s office. She said the vehicle stopped on a dirt road. She managed to get out, but Bishop choked her. Deputies said the woman had multiple bruises and scratches on her body.  Sheriff s officials, including the agency helicopter, searched for Bishop, who was driving an older model Chevy pickup truck. The vehicle was first spotted southbound on Southwest 60th Avenue. The vehicle then turned westbound on West State Road 40.

FHP: 18-year-old seriously hurt, 20-year-old suffers minor injuries in Nassau County ATV crash Staff, News4Jax Tags:  crash early Sunday morning in Nassau County, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Troopers said it happened shortly after 12:30 a.m. on private property near Old Dixie Highway. According to the Highway Patrol, a 20-year-old Callahan man was driving an ATV when the vehicle struck a fence and the driver and the passenger were thrown off. Troopers said the passenger, an 18-year-old Callahan woman, was flown to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville with serious injuries. The driver suffered minor injuries, troopers said. According to FHP, it’s unknown whether the driver and the passenger were wearing helmets.
