Available to students ages 5-14, Virtual OST connects kids and coaches for ongoing academic support combined with enjoyable activities to enrich and broaden their life experiences. The children receive grade group reading and math lessons and homework help, then take a break from academics to participate in enrichment clubs and group events.

Virtual OST was created in March when Chester Eastside was forced to close its on-site Phoenix After School program in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. The format was so successful it served as the platform this summer for Camp Phoenix, a four-week educational, recreational and cultural enrichment day camp, and continued into the school year. The program will remain virtual until it is safe to physically reconvene.

Kwemo, 25, played 17 games in Double Blue during the 2019 season, recording 13 defensive tackles and 16 special teams tackles, third most on the team. The 6’3, 235-pound linebacker was a second-round draft choice of the Argos in 2018 and tallied 15 special teams tackles in 11 games during his rookie season. The Montreal native played 28 games over four seasons at Queen’s University and registered 149 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, three interceptions and two forced fumbles for the Golden Gaels. Kwemo was named First Team All-Canadian in his final year at Queen’s.
