2 persons arrested for allegedly stealing child for money ritual LISTEN 4 HOURS AGO Two young men have been apprehended by the police in Darkuman, Accra, for allegedly abducting a three-year-old girl, ostensibly for money rituals. The suspects have been identified as Addo Quaye, 20, and Ramsey Abubakari, 18. The police have indicated that their search on suspects revealed half bottle of olive oil, six pieces of stones, and some old human teeth. It is alleged that suspects abducted the girl and were taking her to see a fetish priest for money rituals when a relative of the victim spotted them. Witnesses claimed the grandmother of the victim sent her to buy food when the suspects intercepted her and tried taking her away.

Val’s Day COVID-19 flouters grabbed at pubs, lovers parties LISTEN FEB 19, 2021 Five pub operators and a man alleged to have organised a lovers party were on Valentine s eve arrested by the police for breaching the COVID-19 protocols. The arrested persons whose names have been withheld by the police were said to be operating their pubs and spots with large numbers of customers in attendance and were not following the health safety protocols put in place to fight the coronavirus pandemic. One person whose name was given as Bernard Opare, accused of organising a lovers party with attendance of about 100 people at the Awudome SSNIT compound area in Accra, was also apprehended.

Gunmen attack church at Oyibi

+ The police have mounted a search for three suspected armed men who allegedly attacked Glorious Mighty Church at Oyibi and assaulted the head pastor of the church, and in the process shot two congregants. Pastor Sam Enoch, according to the information, was the target of the suspects but he narrowly missed the bullet when one of the armed men pointed the gun at him and fired, but the bullet hit the thigh of a female church member. Another church member in the person of Hannah Bondzie, was also stabbed in the back with a knife by the suspects. The police said the suspects however, did not take anything from the church.
