Oregon’s 1,425th COVID-19 death was a 59-year-old man in Columbia County who tested positive on Nov. 24 and died on Dec. 16 at Kaiser Permanente Westside Medical Center. He had underlying conditions.
Oregon’s 1,426th COVID-19 death was an 88-year-old woman in Deschutes County who tested positive on Dec. 18 and died on Dec. 25 at her residence. She had underlying conditions.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KTVZ) COVID-19 has claimed five more lives in Oregon, including Deschutes County s 22nd death, raising the state’s death toll to 1,427, the Oregon Health Authority said Sunday.
OHA also reported 1,416 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19 as of 12:01 a.m. Sunday, bringing the state total to 109,725 cases.
COVID-19 hospitalizations
The number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 492, which is 20 more than Saturday. There are 105 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit (ICU) beds, which is eight more than Saturday.
The total number of patients in hospital beds may fluctuate between report times. The numbers do not reflect admissions per day, nor the length of hospital stay. Staffing limitations are not captured in this data and may further limit bed capacity.

Marion County sets record for daily cases
Marion County had its highest number of new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday as the state reported its highest number of new cases in two weeks, according to data released by the Oregon Health Authority.

Cases, deaths and hospitalizations are all up in the most recent report by state health officials.
After declining slightly on Saturday, daily reported COVID-19 cases, deaths and hospitalizations shot up again on Sunday, according to the Oregon Health Authority.
State health officials reported 1,416 new cases on Dec. 27, increasing the official total to 109,725. That compares to 612 new cases on Saturday and 908 new cases on Friday.
The OHA also reported five more deaths, raising the official toll to 1,427. That compares to no new deaths on Saturday and seven additional deaths the day before.
In addition, the OHA reported there now 492 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, which is 20 more than Saturday, which was the same as Friday.
