The Governor of Assam has announced one-time opportunity to Commercial and Industrial (C&I) units of the State to avail waiver of Fixed Charge amounts for the months of April, May and June 2020.

GUWAHATI: The Governor of Assam has announced one-time opportunity to Commercial and Industrial (C&I) units of the State to avail waiver of Fixed Charge amounts for the months of April, May and June 2020. However, the consumers will be eligible to avail the waiver on clearing of all outstanding electricity dues to Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) for consumption of power till 28/2/2021.

GUWAHATI: A week after the Assam cabinet announced free power upto 30 units till March, the state’s electricity tariff regulatory body on Monday approved reduction of energy charges by 15 to 20 paise per KWh for both domestic and commercial connections from April 1.
According to the order from Assam Electricity Regulatory Commission, energy charges of low tension domestic and low tension commercial (up to 25KW) categories have been reduced by 20 paise per kWh, while the energy charges of all other categories have been reduced by 15 paise per kWh. The fixed charges, which vary for different categories of connections, have not been changed though.
