GUWAHATI: A week after the Assam cabinet announced free power upto 30 units till March, the poll bound state’s electricity tariff regulatory body on Monday approved reduction of energy charges by 15 to 20 paise per KWh for both domestic and commercial connections from April 1.
According to the order from Assam Electricity Regulatory Commission energy charges of low tension domestic and low tension commercial (up to 25KW) categories have been reduced by 20 paise per kWh, while the energy charges of all other categories have been reduced by 15 paise per kWh. The fixed charges, which varies for different categories of connections, have not been changed though.

As per today s AERC notification, a new set of tariff rules have been defined, with a reduction in electricity tariffs, effective from 1st April 2021.

GUWAHATI: Consumers in the state of Assam will witness a sigh of relief as power tariff in Assam is set to be reduced effective from April 1, 2021.
A press release stated that there is an overall decrease of 2.0% (~15 paise/unit) as compared to the existing tariff.
Taking to his Twitter handle Kumar Sanjay Krishna, Chairman, Assam Electricity Regulatory Commission wrote, As per today s AERC notification, a new set of tariff rules have been defined, with a reduction in electricity tariffs, effective from 1st April 2021.
