A lot of people love Monster Hunter Rise. That by itself shouldn’t be too surprising. The smash-hit Nintendo Switch game has received universal acclaim, including on our very own website. In general, Monster Hunter is more beloved than ever, satisfying the new players who came onboard with Monster Hunter World, as well as the diehard legions who have stuck with the series since its PSP days.
Surprisingly, I, Jordan Minor, love Monster Hunter Rise. Until now, I’ve always hated Monster Hunter. Equally as surprising, I can’t seem to nail down the specific reason why I suddenly fell for this game. Sometimes, incremental improvements, rather than sweeping changes, sneak up on you and finally make games what you always wanted them to be.
