MILAN, Ill. It s been a busy year for the Quad City Animal Welfare Center in Milan. Now the woman helping to rescue and care for all kinds of animals is being recognized for her hard work. Patti is the heart and soul of that shelter, says Linda Sarabasa, who nominated director Patti McRae for the Pay It Forward award, sponsored by Ascentra Credit Union. The effort that she takes in bringing dogs in from other shelters, taking the strays off the street.

DES MOINES â The Iowa Credit Union Foundation and its Board of Directors voted to welcome two new members to its board and elected new board officers at its annual meeting in December.
Joining the ICUF Board in 2021 are Donna Dyer-Bischoff and Alejandro Alaniz. Dyer-Bischoff is a sales market manager, Credit Union System Relations at CUNA Mutual Group, and Alaniz is a region sales manager for Collins Community Credit Union. Both will serve 3-year terms.
In addition, Ann McMillian, executive vice president and chief operating officer at IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union, was elected as board chair of the 2021 term. McMillian will be joined by Vice Chair Marian Holmes from Community 1st Credit Union, Treasurer Keith Mesch from Veridian Credit Union and Secretary Jordan Hensley from Peoples Credit Union.
MUSCATINEÂ â Stanley Consultants, a worldwide provider of engineering, environmental and construction services, and its industry partners, were awarded the Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement by the Iowa Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) for its work in battling Missouri River basin flooding and restoring mobility.
The Missouri River Overflow Bridges project also received an honor award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Iowa.
In 2019, Iowa experienced the wettest January to May period on record. Flooding and the resulting damage closed Iowa Highway 2 at the Missouri River bridge near Nebraska City. Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds challenged Iowa DOT to realign the levee and elevate traffic on a new bridge to increase river overflow conveyance and improve the resiliency of the Highway 2 corridor before spring 2020, less than a year away.
Erie Johnson joins First Community Trust

Now with FCT, Erie is focused on managing and administering Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), trusts, investment agency accounts, and supervising estate administration for his clients.
He applies his education and past work experience as an attorney to the areas of trusts and estates and family law, and his past work as a fiduciary wealth manager to provide a client-focused approach to developing wealth management strategies.
