TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Two East Texas men have been arrested and charged with federal crimes in connection with allegations that they took part in the siege of the U.S Capitol Building on Jan. 6.
Ryan Nichols, 30, of Longview, and Alex Kirk Harkrider, 33, of Carthage, were both arrested on Monday. Nichols is being held in the Smith County Jail, and Harkrider is being held in the Gregg County Jail.
An Elizabethtown man, who reportedly was the first person Jan. 6 to enter the U.S. Capitol through a broken window during an attack, faces three federal charges stemming from the
