The state government – driven by whichever party comes to power after the elections – will have to prioritize the Centre s Act East and Neighbourhood First policies.

New Delhi, Apr 8 (IANS): As the battle for West Bengal is underway, the strategically located state is of importance as it shares its borders with three countries Nepal, Bhutan besides of course Bangladesh. The state government driven by whichever party comes to power after the elections will have to prioritize the Centres Act East and Neighbourhood First policies.
It is the only state which shares its borders with three countries. All these three countries feature prominently in Prime Minister Narendra Modi s Neighborhood policy. Analysts said that Bengal is not just about its own domestic policies but are intertwined with the country s foreign policy framework besides being the gateway to the northeast.

Bhopal: A contract was signed between the Women’s Crime Branch of Police Headquarters and School of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday for the study of prevention of cases of abduction and kidnapping of girls in the state and suggestions related to it. The contract was signed by Additional Director General of Police (Women Crime) police Headquarters Smt. Pragya Richa Shrivastava and Shri Girish Sharma, Director, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis. Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Home Shri Rajesh Rajaura and Director General of Police Shri Vivek Johri were present.
