Kenny’s amplifier was officially handed over to the
Wellington Museum today, to house the item that made the
local identity a household name.

The 10-year anniversary of the death of
busker John D Estaing Adams aka Kenny has set the wheels in
motion for this commemoration of the Wellington
icon.
Born in Texas in 1946, the actor, singer and
musician, moved to Wellington in 1992 to fulfil his
commitment to missionary work.

Film Queenstown Lakes (Council’s in-house film office )
and production company Great Southern Television have
partnered together to host a Screenwriters Workshop ,
looking to bring a selection of screenwriters from across
New Zealand to the Queenstown Lakes to create television
project ideas either inspired by the district, or set within
it.
Queenstown Lakes District Council’s (QLDC)
Economic Development Manager, Peter Harris expressed his
excitement for the new programme, hailing it as a great
initiative in the district s drive for economic
diversification. The Screenwriters Workshop is a
proactive approach by Film Queenstown Lakes and Great
Southern Television to create more television-related work

It is critical we get to the bottom of why the Minister
of Health turned up to a press conference and released a
manifestly inaccurate and misleading graph on New
Zealand’s vaccination roll out, National’s Covid-19
Response spokesperson Chris Bishop says.
“Covid-19
Response Minister Chris Hipkins was under pressure for a
vaccine roll out plan and out of the blue released a graph
which supposedly showed how the rollout would
work.
“National, and media, asked for the underlying
data that created the graph. The Government was forced to
admit that there never was any data, it was simply an

Hutt City
Council Electoral Officer Bruce Hodgins says this is the
highest number of candidates for a ward by-election in Lower
Hutt that he is aware of. It’s pleasing to see this
level of interest from the community in the by-election,
says Bruce Hodgins.

Voting
will be by postal vote with voting papers starting to arrive
in the mail to households in the Central Ward from 19 August
2021. Voting will close at noon on 10 September
2021.
Those not already enrolled to vote in local
