Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) has confirmed
that it has been in dialogue with the Queenstown Mountain
Bike Club around relocating from the current Gorge Road site
since 2017. The lease for the present location expired in
2018 and Council identified at that stage that it required
the land to support ongoing infrastructure and parking
projects as part of the wider town centre redevelopment
work.
QLDC General Manager Property &
Infrastructure Peter Hansby confirmed that a new site at
Kerry Drive Recreation Reserve has been the focus for four
years and was a move long supported by both QTMBC and the

Excitement is building for the long-awaited Tokyo 2020
Olympic Games and Kiwi sporting fans will be right amongst

AgResearch scientists have taken their skills into the
kitchen to identify the ideal cooking conditions for the
‘perfect steak’; while also harnessing the power of
Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create new food combinations
and recipes.
Working with world-class development chef
Dale Bowie, whose career has included working at Heston
Blumenthal’s Michelin three-star restaurant The Fat Duck
in the UK, the scientists used a unique approach of
analysing biochemical changes in beef steak during the
cooking process. When being cooked, the steak releases
compounds emitted as gases called volatiles, which can be

Campaigners say the Government must stand strong against
pressure from some in the agricultural sector to weaken
freshwater reforms, following the release today of the
Government’s consultation document on freshwater farm
plans and fencing rules.

Government to weaken the protection of freshwater has been
starting to show, with fencing rules being consulted on
