Te Kura Huanui: The treasures of
successful pathways, published in te reo Māori and
English, includes links to five short documentaries which
provide rare insight and a deep dive into the common
conditions for success in Māori-medium education.
The
acknowledgement of Māori-medium successes was deemed as
“long overdue” by Kelvin Davis, who applauded the
sector’s ability to deliver exceptional outcomes for
Māori learners despite facing many challenges over the
decades.

Melbourne
is the best place in the world to work from home, with
Sydney coming in third and Auckland lagging behind at 37th,
a study by Nestpick has found.
It may have endured
four hard lockdowns during the Covid-19 pandemic, but
Melbourne has topped a global survey of the best place to work
from home.
The survey, by on-demand housing
platform Nestpick, polled residents in 75 cities previously
identified as “most liveable” and included such factors
as costs, infrastructure, legislation and
liveability.
Dubai was rated second and Sydney third,
with Tallinn, Estonia’s capital, fourth and London
rounding out the top five.

A proposal to convert the existing Council-owned sports
administration building at Lansdowne Park into a High
Performance Training Centre (HPTC) has received the full
support of the Council’s Assets & Services Committee

The global death toll due to COVID-19 officially passed
four million late on Wednesday, marking yet another “grim
milestone” and underlining the urgent need for the world
to put a Global Vaccine Plan in place to get the pandemic
under control, said
the UN chief in a statement.
