The interim report on supermarket pricing will likely
confirm what a lot of New Zealanders are experiencing when
they head to the shops, National’s Commerce and Consumer
Affairs spokesperson Todd McClay says.

An Auckland Business Chamber survey of over 1000
companies reveals a desperate need for skills at all levels
and a change to the environment that has businesses poaching
talent from each other.
The survey revealed an
immediate need for 4,400 roles in Auckland plus a further
1,300 for construction and about 1,000 for the aged care
sector. 87% of the respondents indicated a shortage of
skills now and in the immediate future. Chamber CEO, Michael
Barnett, said the situation is now critical for business
growth and continuity and the situation was delivering some
perverse outcomes.

allowed back into Blenheim’s CBD as the new Dog Control
Policy and Dog Control Bylaw 2021 comes into
effect.

about dogs and dog access to public places.

A collaboration of Pacific experts across a range of
disciplines focused on children’s health & development
has been awarded a Health Research Council Pacific Health
Project grant of $1.17m to explore a cross-sectoral approach
to measuring and improving child wellbeing. Lead researcher
Dr Teuila Percival, Director at Moana Research and
Consultant Paediatrician at KidzFirst Middlemore Hospital,
emphasises the importance of taking a community partnership
approach with families, well child nurses and early
childhood education teachers.

Life insurer AIA has admitted making false and/or
misleading representations to customers in proceedings
brought by the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) - Te Mana
Tātai Hokohoko.
The case was filed in the Auckland
High Court and alleges three causes of action under the Fair
Dealing provisions (Part 2) of the Financial Markets Conduct
Act 2013 (the FMC Act).
AIA has agreed to admit all
causes of action and will file a Notice of Admission of the
