It was revealed that the reason why the project had been neglected was that the contractor was yet to be paid.
Besides, reviving some moribund companies of the state which were abandoned projects of previous administrations would be good. Among them include Arewa Ceramics Company, Azare Flour Mills and Bauchi Fertilizer Company.
Global pandemic, Coronavirus
A year today, Ghana recorded its first COVID-19 case in the country. Two cases were confirmed on March 12, 2020, when two persons, one from Norway and the other, Turkey, came to the country.
Consequently, the government instituted measures to contain the spread of the virus.
By the end of March, Ghana recorded 152 confirmed cases with five deaths and 22 recoveries, necessitating the locking down of some parts of the country considered to be the epicenters.
So, the Greater Accra and the Greater Ashanti Regions were on March 15, 2020, locked down.
After two weeks, the lockdown was lifted but the country’s borders remained shut, schools closed and social gatherings restricted, among others.
