“A normal, healthy, happy boy,” his father, Kelly Lewis said.
On Saturday, three weeks and a day after Kadeo came home with a fever, he died at age 17. The news of Lewis’ rapid health descent stunned not only the Lewis family – Kelly and his wife, Crystal, and sons Carter, 26, and Braxton, 13 – but friends at Cascade and throughout the local wrestling community.
Cascade High School released this statement on Sunday: “All thoughts and prayers are with the Lewis family upon the tragic loss of Kadeo. The Cascade High School family will support the Lewis family, our students, and staff as we move forward in the coming days. Additional counselors will be here Monday for anyone needing to talk.”
The impact the Stayton Family Memorial Pool has had on Mya Joyce’s life is immense.
She was 1 when she went there for swim lessons for the first time. Later, she competed for Stayton Manta Ray Swim Club. She had her first job as a lifeguard until the pool was forced to close in 2020 due to COVID-19-related restrictions.
It’s more than a building with a body of water inside to her.
“Pretty much every single kid in this community has learned to some extent in that pool,” said Joyce, a senior at Stayton High School. “It’s so incredible what our pool has done.”

Williams was elevated to the No. 1 wide receiver after the Raiders cut Brown just days before the beginning of the 2019 regular season.
