The collaboration aims to strengthen VSU’s capacity to implement interdisciplinary research, develop a research, and publication agenda, organize joint conferences with AdMU, and publish research findings.
“We have been engaging with Ateneo since 2014 but this is the first time we have formalized our partnership with them. Considering our vulnerability to natural hazards in the region, I see that this is a great opportunity for VSU researchers to access the expertise of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology especially in the area of social vulnerability analysis,” Gender Resource Center (GRC) head Prof. Maria Aurora Tabada said.
GRC will be the head implementer of the research collaboration on behalf of VSU for the next three years.

Launched on June 30, Boses, Opinyon, Siyasat, at Siyensya para sa Pilipinas (BOSES Pilipinas) aims to provide a “more transparent and innovative approach in doing opinion polls and survey research.”
Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez believes BOSES Pilipinas would “greatly complement” the ongoing efforts towards a more informed citizenry leading up to the 2022 polls.
“One of the major problems identified by the Comelec as being a red flag coming up to the 2022 elections is the proliferation of disinformation and misinformation. Any initiative that will help to educate the public as to the difference between the two, of course, will be very welcome,” Jimenez said during the launch.
