Man Arrested for Starting Fire in an Atlantic City Rooming House Cops in Atlantic City say a man was arrested for starting a fire in an occupied rooming house Sunday evening. The Atlantic City Police Department says at 5PM Sunday, officers and the Atlantic City Fire Department responded to the first block of North Kingston Avenue for a fire. According to police, firefighters arrived to find heavy fire on the second floor of the home. The occupants of the building were able to escape. Six fire companies were able to bring the fire under control within an hour. While on scene, police say 21-year-old Daniel Grisales-Mejia of Atlantic City approached officers and said he lived in the home. Grisales-Mejia was sent to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division to be evaluated.

Vineland Man, Suspect in August Shooting, Arrested in AC

A Vineland man wanted for his involvement in an August shooting in Atlantic City has been arrested. Police say 35-year-old Andre Alexander of Vineland was arrested last Saturday without incident in the first block of South Texas Avenue in Atlantic City. According to police, Alexander was wanted for shooting a man on the afternoon of August 3rd. In that incident, officers responded to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division in reference to a man that had walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound. The 22-year-old victim from Philadelphia, who sustained a non-life threatening injury, was shot during an altercation in the 3100 block of Pacific Avenue.
