The Delaware Division of Public Health provided an update on the most recent statistics related to COVID-19 in Delaware as of 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 10.
A total of 43,818 positive cases of COVID-19 among Delaware residents have been reported to DPH since March 11, 2020. The number of new daily cases each day this week remained elevated, with the seven-day average increasing to 768.9 as of Dec. 10.
The seven-day average for the percentage of persons who tested positive for COVID-19 increased from 21 percent as of Dec. 3 to 22.8 percent as of Dec. 10. DPH publishes both positivity rates – persons tested and total tests conducted – on its COVID-19 data portal. As of Tuesday, Dec. 8, the seven-day average for the percentage of total tests that were positive was 9.5 percent, up from 8.4 percent on Dec. 1.
