The Christendom Crusaders came back in a dramatic walk-off win on Saturday to wrap up their season, defeating Mid-Atlantic Christian University 12-10 at home.
The game was the second of a doubleheader against Mid-Atlantic Christian, who won the first game 3-1. The Mustangs immediately continued their momentum from the first game, scoring three in the first inning against the Crusaders before putting two more on the board in the third.
Down 5-0, the Crusaders had an offensive explosion in the fourth inning, scoring seven runs thanks to timely hitting from Stephen Buonocore and Michael Mesch and untimely errors from the Mustangs. In the fifth inning, the back and forth between the Crusaders and the Mustangs continued, with the Mustangs scoring 3 in the top of the inning before the Crusaders tied the game 8-8 in the bottom of the fifth.
Multiple Elizabeth City Colleges Disrupted by Protests

Three colleges and universities in Elizabeth City, N.C., are limiting operations due to ongoing protests in the city over the April 21 police killing of a Black man, Andrew Brown Jr. Protesters have been marching in the city since last week.
Elizabeth City State University, a historically Black university, moved its classes online for the remainder of the spring semester, which ends Friday. The university also closed residence halls Tuesday. The university’s spring commencement is scheduled for May 8, but a Tuesday post on the university s Facebook page said tickets to the event “will not be distributed at this time.”
