‘’Effective this month, we are replacing 100 percent of our fossil-based diesel fuel with renewable diesel,’’ said Steve Hirschfeld, senior vice president for Atlantic Aviation. “The change will reduce carbon emissions on the airport by over eight million pounds annually, or the equivalent of that produced by approximately 795 automobiles.”
Renewable diesel will be utilized primarily in ground support equipment, operated by Atlantic Aviation and its customers. The product is derived from fats, vegetable oils and waste cooking oils and can be used interchangeably with traditional diesel fuel.
The introduction of renewable diesel is the latest step in Atlantic Aviation’s comprehensive Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) program and follows the Company’s first delivery of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) at LAX in late March of this year.

In honor of Thursday s Earth Day, Atlantic Aviation announced it has begun stocking continual supplies of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at its FBO at Colorado’s Aspen-Pitkin County Airport (KASE). For Atlantic, which operates at nearly 70 locations in the U.S., this represents its second facility to continually offer SAF.

(Reuters) – As U.S. business aviation traffic rebounds to pre-pandemic levels, a niche, fragmented industry providing services ranging from hangars to fueling is drawing interest from private equity funds and infrastructure investors.
Fixed base operators, or FBOs, play a key role in keeping private jets flying, offering services like hangars and fueling, and some buyers are betting the revival in flights could spill over into allied industries.
While business jet orders and deliveries dropped in 2020, private flights, which carry smaller groups and promise wealthy passengers less risk of exposure to the coronavirus, have generally fared better than commercial. That is underpinning investor interest in FBOs.
