Max Verstappen to raise track limits issue with other drivers after messy situation in Bahrain

Max Verstappen will raise the issue of track limits ahead of the Grand Prix at Imola after he was denied victory for going out of bounds battling Lewis Hamilton in the Bahrain season-opener. Verstappen was forced to give his lead back to Hamilton late in the Bahrain GP as the Dutchman was deemed to have exceeded track limits when passing the Briton at Turn 4. Now in Imola for this weekend Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, the Red Bull driver said he was baffled as to why Hamilton didn’t get penalised for exceeding track limits at the same corner, and echoed his Team Principal Christian Horner s calls for consistency.

Bull RB16B goes extreme © Red Bull Red Bull may have already announced this year’s car will be called RB16B and not RB17, but that doesn’t mean the car that Max Verstappen and Sérgio Pérez will be racing with in 2021 is just a small evolution from last year’s chassis. Far from it, in effect. Late last year Team Principal Christian Horner explained, “the new car will be called RB16B because 60 per cent of it will be carry-over components from the 2020 chassis, so, for the first time in our history as a team, we won’t have a completely new designation for a car but a B version of the previous year’s car.”
