San Luis Obispo County now vaccinating people 14 and above

San Luis Obispo County residents ages 14 and older are now eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccines.
People age 14 and above can sign up for a vaccine through Recover SLO. Because of FDA regulations, only the Pfizer vaccine is approved for minors. Those under age 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The vaccine is free of charge for those without insurance.
During the past four days, SLO County reported 25 new coronavirus cases. Of those, Paso Robles leads with eight cases, followed by San Luis Obispo with four and both Atascadero and Templeton with three.
–As part of its ongoing investigation of a data breach at Atascadero State Hospital that was identified on Feb. 25, 2021, the Department of State Hospitals (DSH) today announced the discovery of additional data that had been improperly accessed during the same data breach.
The additional data accessed consists of:
Personal information including addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, social security numbers, dates of birth, and driver’s license numbers of 80 individuals;
The date of birth and last four digits of the social security numbers of approximately 20 individuals;
Immigration information of 38 individuals; and
Health information related to employment, of approximately 81 individuals who are either employees, former employees, or DSH job applicants who never became DSH employees.
Comparing COVID-19 case rates in Central Coast counties, to nearby counties

More than 61% of eligible Californians having received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, resulting in case rates plummeting in most counties. With 43 counties in moderate or medium tiers, life is starting to return to normal.
Counties near the Central Coast have similar new coronavirus case rates per 100,000 residents, averaged over the past seven days. All county rates, however, vary significantly with no new cases in Trinity County and 27.9 new cases per 100,000 in Siskiyou County, according to California Case Statistics.
The average new case rate is 3.8 per 100,000 California residents.
