  The past year has been one nobody ever expected, with the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic having rippled across the globe.   This World Social Work Day, we look to other countries as to how the pandemic has affected them, their social workers and particularly, those in need of social work and care.   We spoke to four different organisations across Canada, the United Arab Emirates and New Zealand to find out about the role of social workers in their countries over the past year and the impact of Covid-19 on practitioners… Canada Canada is a geographically vast and diverse country, spanning the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Great Lakes to the south, with its citizens spread across urban, rural and remote areas.
