Noida/Ghaziabad: Amid the massive surge in Covid-19 cases, the Noida and Ghaziabad administrations on Friday ordered to increase the total number of beds reserved for Covid patients across various hospitals both government and private.
Several hospitals, which were denotified earlier, have been asked to reserve beds for Covid patients in both districts. Noida now has nine Covid hospitals with a total of 1,754 beds, including 383 ICU beds, 154 beds with ventilators and 783 with oxygen support.
“We have enough beds to treat Covid patients at the moment. The capacity can be increased based on the requirement. Most patients are currently in home isolation and they are being monitored over calls at least twice a day,” said district surveillance officer Dr Sunil Dohare.

New Delhi: Amid exponential increase in coronavirus cases in Delhi and adjoining cities like Noida and Ghaziabad for the last few weeks, several healthcare centres, especially private hospitals, have complained about a shortage of vaccines.
For instance, the Max Super Specialty Hospital in Vaishali, Ghaziabad, has been facing a shortage of vaccine for around three days. An official spokesperson of Max Super Specialty Hospital group said new registrations for vaccination have been stopped for the last three days. However, the Max hospital administration also claimed that the shortage of vaccination is in Max Vaishali and not in Patparganj in East Delhi.
