The Greater San Marcos Partnership is set to host the 2021 Greater San Marcos Innovation Summit, featuring keynote speaker Andres Carvallo, professor of innovation and co-director of the Connected Infrastructure for Education, Demonstration, and Applied Research Consortium at Texas State University.
This year’s Greater San Marcos Innovation Summit, which will highlight the region’s innovation and achievements, takes place at Embassy Suites City of San Marcos Hotel and Conference Center on Tuesday, August 10 between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
GSMP said Carvallo will discuss exclusive insights on new developments with applied research at Texas State, including living labs, networks, sensors and data software. “This keynote will address these one-of-a-kind techniques that will have a significant impact on research and development at the global scale,” GSMP said.

There are two “new” communities that have joined our regional economic development organization, and as such, I’m pleased to welcome the City of Uhland and the City of Wimberley as investors in the Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP).
One of the key parts of GSMP’s mission is to unite our region s diverse stakeholders in the collaborative pursuit of economic prosperity for all. By becoming full investors in the Partnership, these two communities are taking an active hand in building economic opportunities for their residents and for the Texas Innovation Corridor as a whole.

It’s been a long time coming, but yesterday marked a big milestone for the Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP). For the first time in 16 months, GSMP held an in-person meeting with our public and private sector investors.
I was delighted to hold a meeting where I did not have to share a slide via Zoom screen share or remind attendees about virtual etiquette. 16 months ago, at the March 4, 2020 meeting, we talked about our exciting plans for SXSW and upcoming marketing trips… little did we know what was to come.
