Wareham families can now get notified of family-friendly events and programs in their area through a text to their phones.
The United Way of Greater New Bedford recently announced it has partnered with Bright by Text, a program providing parents, caregivers, and family members with tips and local resources for children prenatal to age 8 via text message.
“Texting is really the way that people are getting their information now,” Wareham resident and the service’s implementation manager Rhonda Veugen said. “And we really wanted to make sure this was a way we could communicate information out there.”
Any child caregiver can sign up for the service, including babysitters, teachers, and child-care workers along with parents and family members.
