The red VW Golf A DRUG driver was arrested overnight after being involved in a public order incident last evening. The driver of the VW Golf was sighted in Breightmet and stopped and arrested for the public order offence. The driver was then found to be under the influence of drugs and found to be in possession of cannabis. A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said early this morning that the driver was in custody awaiting interview. Officers spotted the car on the A666, following the car to Bolton Road, Pendlebury. Tactical contact was used by police vehicles to prevent the driver from triggering a chase. Once stopped, the driver was also found in possession of cannabis and subsequently failed a drug test. The driver was also found to be without insurance and was arrested, while his car was seized.
