A walker discovered the Labrador-type dog’s body on Paddock Lane in Warburton, around 200 metres away from the Saracens Head pub. She had sustained burns in her mouth and around her head and neck. The incident was reported to the RSPCA on Monday, January 25, but it is believed that the body had been in the area since January 22. Vets at the Greater Manchester Animal Hospital found ‘no obvious cause of death’, and it is not known if the puppy suffered her injuries before or after death.
