While some organizations are collecting donations in the aftermath of the tragedy, public officials say they ve received plenty of goods and donations at this time. However, cash donations are being accepted.

SURFSIDE, Fla. â Like so many communities and organizations across South Florida, the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County is on standby waiting to help those in need. I heard about the news the morning after, Michael Hoffman said.
He said he began thinking about the Jewish community in Surfside. I immediately reached out to my colleague Jacob Solomon, the CEO of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, he said.

JTA Nachman Shai’s first visit to the United States as Israel’s new minister for Diaspora affairs was not under normal circumstances.
“In hard times, in times of disaster, we have to stand shoulder to shoulder with Americans,” he said in an interview on Sunday in The Shul, the Chabad-Lubavitch synagogue located about a mile from the remains of the collapsed Champlain Towers building here that has left 11 dead and another 150 people unaccounted for as of Monday night.
