fundsforNGOs Community Sustainability Grants Program – Australia 90SHARES Deadline: 15-Feb-21 Greater Shepparton City Council is pleased to offer funding for projects and events which will assist in promoting sustainability within the community. The Sustainability Grants will support the development and implementation of sustainable projects and events, which will go to achieving sustainability related actions within the Environmental Sustainability Strategy. The intention of the funding is to facilitate projects which achieve some or all of the following objectives: Encourage and support the community to address the climate emergency by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and working towards a zero emissions future. Raise community awareness of the relevance of climate change, the impacts it will have on our environment and way of life, and the opportunities it will present.

Wyndham/Fitzjohn/MacIntosh/Hassett Street intersection project update

Date Time Wyndham/Fitzjohn/MacIntosh/Hassett Street intersection project update Greater Shepparton City Council’s works to widen Wyndham Street along the Victoria Park Lake frontage are due to be completed by Wednesday 23 December, with the works on the Wyndham/MacIntosh/Fitzjohn/Hassett intersection due to be completed in the new year. Work on the intersection component will resume from Monday 11 January. Traffic will continue to be reduced to one lane through the intersection over the Christmas break, however the lanes along the frontage of the lake have been reopened. The road improvements will increase the safety of one of the municipality’s busiest attractions, and are being completed as part of the contract to install traffic signals at the Wyndham Street/Railway Line/MacIntosh Street/Hassett Street and Fitzjohn Street intersection.

Date Time Community Grants applications open Greater Shepparton events, sporting infrastructure and community strengthening, art and sustainability projects will be supported under Round 2 of Greater Shepparton City Council’s 2020/2021 Community Grants program. Council’s Community Arts Grants, Community Matching Grants, Community Sustainability Grants, Minor and Major Event Grants and Our Sporting Future Grants all opened today, Monday 21 December, and will close on 15 February 2021. Mayor Cr Kim O’Keeffe said Council’s community grants are a great opportunity to develop community projects and initiatives. “As we begin to see COVID-19 restrictions ease, many of the projects or events that seemed impossible only a few months ago may now be possible,” Cr O’Keeffe said.
