Abu Dhabi: The rate of unemployment among Saudis dropped to 11.7 per cent at the end of the first quarter of this year, compared to 12.6 per cent at the end of the fourth quarter 2020, the Kingdom’s General Authority for Statistics said on Wednesday.
The statistics showed the unemployment rate among men was 7.2 per cent and among women 21.2 per cent.
The quarterly Labour Market Bulletin released by the Statistics Authority also showed the unemployment rate of the total Saudi and non-Saudi population (15 years and above) for the first quarter of 2021 dropped to 6.5 per cent from 7.4 per cent during the previous quarter.
