DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - Two people have been arrested after a deputy from the Douglas County Sheriff s Office (DCSO) was shot late Sunday night.
At approximately 11:15 p.m. on December 20, deputies observed a known fugitive in a car near the intersection of Douglas Avenue and Gillman Avenue in Gardnerville. The fugitive, 22-year-old Nicolas Berreman, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Kaela Mae Horse-Berreman. DCSO deputies stopped the vehicle and as they attempted to arrest Berreman he allegedly shot Sgt. John Lenz three times. Two shots to the chest were stopped by his body armor and a third struck his left cheek.

HOUSTON – An officer-involved shooting overnight stemmed from a suspected road rage incident an officer witnessed on the Katy Freeway, according to the Houston Police Department.
Around midnight, the off-duty officer was driving home after his shift had ended. As he was driving outbound on I-10, east of Fry Road, he witnessed a suspected road rage incident occur. One vehicle began firing on a black sedan. Following the shooting, the black sedan exited the freeway while the suspect vehicle continued westbound on I-10, police said.
Officer Wounded in Sanders County Shootout – Suspect Killed
There was an officer involved shooting near Trout Creek in Sanders County early Friday morning in which the suspect was fatally shot by officers, but not before he wounded a law enforcement officer.
The Montana Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation issued a press release on Friday detailing the incident.
The Sanders County Sheriff’s Office received a call that a male suspect had barricaded himself inside the Naughty Pine Saloon near Trout Creek.
The suspect would not cooperate and so a call was made for the Missoula and Flathead County Sheriff’s Offices to deploy their SWAT teams to the scene.
