Black Country, New Road are at the top of the latest UK Record Store Chart with ‘For the first time’.
It’s now nine years since The Official Charts Company launched this chart as vinyl sales surged during the last decade, a trend which continued in 2020 as the format grew for the 13th consecutive year. It is compiled from the best selling albums at 100 of Britain’s leading independent music shops.

Foo Fighters have topped the UK album chart for a fifth time with Medicine At Midnight.
The album outsold the rest of the top six albums combined after finishing the week with 42,500 chart sales.
A total of 74% of the sales were on CD or vinyl.
The US rock band have previously topped the Official Charts Company rankings with One By One (2002), Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace (2007), Wasting Light (2011) and Concrete & Gold (2017).
Frontman Dave Grohl said: “I would like to thank everyone for honouring us with this number one record.

It leads more high new entries from Celeste, Goat Girl and Steven Wilson, with Phoebe Bridgers’ Punisher climbing this week and completing the Top 5. Further back, Sleaford Mods hold on to a Top 10 position thanks to Spare Ribs, and Shame are at #19 with Drunk Tank Pink.
The song has also re-entered at Number 10 on this week s Official Download Chart.
